Atlas 1404ZW

ATLAS rail-road excavators of the ‘KZW’ design are the only special machines manufactured according to the requirements and needs of construction companies working in railway construction. They are equipped with a dual bogie, one wheeled and one rail. The machines have the same equipment as conventional wheeled excavators, but they also have complete equipment as a locomotive. This includes a train brake, which enables and guarantees towing and braking of a train with a weigh of 120 tons.

The pressure of the rail axles is regulated and monitored by a special ‘ATLAS CARSY’ system, which ensures constant contact of all wheels of the railway bogie with the rail head.

Thanks to a special chassis and superstructure design, ATLAS machines are stable even when working from tracks. ATLAS is also the only company to offer a wide range of attachments specially tailored to work efficiently when working under trolleys or in closures.

The swing radius of the tail is 1.75 m and, for greater machine safety, these are fitted with maximum lift and swing limiters.
